Robert and I have been on our first holiday since retirement. We spent a month in the Mediterranean and Black Seas on a cruise. It was the busiest cruise ever...21 days on the boat and only 4 sea days. A port record for us!
Our trip began in Rome spending 4 days touring, recovering from jet lag and eating too much (a theme for the trip). We managed to hit high tourist season AND one of the worst heat waves in a few years.
Our itinerary went as follows: Naples, Crete, Rhodes, Kusadasi, Santorini, Athens, Volos, Khios, Contanta, Burgas, Istanbul, Mykonos, Valletta and Messina which means we were in 7 different countries over the course of the month (Italy, Greece, Malta, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and the Vatican). (OK - we didn't go to the Vatican off of the cruise ship...but we did while in Rome.)
Now that we have returned, it is time to catch up on bills and label pictures. Check back for the next few days as I plan to post something for each day we did something awesome.
